The hosts head into this fixture on the back of a disappointing 4-2 loss to Swansea City, which was their second successive loss in the league.

Ryan Lowe's men were 3-0 down at the break but courtesy of goals from Thomas Cannon and Troy Parrott they were staging a comeback but Joel Piroe's brace dashed their hopes. Preston are still in the 11th Championship but find themselves just two points behind Rovers who are in the sixth position. Hence, a win on Saturday could change the dynamics for them.

Meanwhile, Rovers were held to a 1-1 draw against Coventry. Just when it seemed that Sam Gallagher's first-half strike was enough to hand them the three points, Ben Wilson bagged a stoppage-time equaliser which forced them to share the spoils. This was their third successive draw in the Championship and they should be desperate to get back to winning ways.
